Small Town Records is a student run organization and a member of the Duke University Union. We are dedicated to building the music community at Duke University and creating a better undergraduate experience for student musicians and non-musicians alike.

We do not serve musicians outside the Duke community.

We do not sell or mass distribute our music or in any way intend to generate revenue.

Our mission is to help Duke artists through publicity and free recording.

Student music and student performances are a valuable part of the culture at any university, and we hope to bring more of both to Duke’s campus. We want more people to know about the bands at Duke, and we want more people to hear music on campus. By establishing and nurturing relationships between musicians, fans, administrators, professors, and the greater Duke family, we have created an organization empowered by people who love music and see the value of the Arts in community building.

The first compilation album of Duke artists was released in the spring of 2008 as a culmination of many months of recording.
